Challenge

Stern Grove Festival, an admission-free performing arts series held each summer in San Francisco, partnered with Jiva Creative for the 10th consecutive year to design and develop a site promoting its new season. The site, which receives an average of 10 million hits during it's 3-month peak period, needed to be robust, intuitive, and engaging in order to satisfy the Festival's very loyal and enthusiastic fans.

Solution

Jiva Creative leveraged artwork developed for the Festival's 73rd season to develop an engaging site that is both beautiful and functional. Special site features include: a content management system allowing for site content population and maintenance by non-technical Festival staff (extremely important for lineup changes and last-minute bulletins for concert-goers!); sample song clips for each artist; online volunteer and program registration; and a custom-programmed invitation and reservation system that allows concert-goers to invite friends and organize groups for concerts of their choice. Additionally, Jiva enabled the immediate insertion of newsletter subscription sign-ups and volunteer/contact form submissions into fundraising and patron databases to eliminate the need to pull this information manually.

Results

Stern Grove has received overwhelmingly positive feedback about the site. It's a hit! In addition to this praise, Jiva has also helped Stern Grove Festival greatly reduce time spent on administrative functions that it was previously handling off-line.

Jiva Creative has won multiple awards for the website designs we have created for Stern Grove over the years. Past awards include: a Silver award in the 2007 Hermes Awards; an Award of Distinction in the 2007 Communicator Awards; a Gold award in the 2006 MarCom Awards; an Award of Distinction in the 2006 Communicator Awards; a Silver award in the 2006 Millennium Awards; and a Gold award in the 2005 MarCom Awards.
