Challenge

Bechtel, the world's largest engineering and construction firm, turned to Jiva Creative when it was time to redesign their company website. Bechtel had a newly-launched brand that needed to be showcased, and the company wanted to present a more professional and humanistic image in order to bolster their recruiting efforts.

Solution

Jiva Creative worked with Bechtel to design an elegant and effective site interface that is in line with the company's new brand image. Utilizing an amazing library of photo assets (it's a web designer's dream!), we worked closely with Bechtel's photo editor to choose bold, humanistic visuals that showcased Bechtel's greatest asset: it's people. Implementing a robust content management system that can be used by non-technical marketing staff members to maintain every aspect of the site, Jiva created a very organized and intuitive site with close to 1,000 content pages and 1,000's of images. Jiva also worked with the Bechtel IT department to install, test, and secure a custom hosting solution in order to support easy management of the site.

Results

As a result of the website redesign, Bechtel has seen an average 35% sustained increase in pageviews and unique visitors to the site. Additionally, 90% of all web-related updates are now being handled internally by the Bechtel marketing team.

Postscript

Since the launch of Bechtel.com, Jiva has continued to work closely with the Bechtel marketing team to implement additional web-based tools and enhancements—such as custom tracking for Bechtel's online recruiting tools in order to provide additional insight into their on- and off-line recruiting efforts. As a result of our success with the Bechtel.com site, we have been retained by three additional internal departments to assist with other company interactive initiatives.
